Before entering the campsite, you pass through the village of La Semnadisse, one of the small, quiet hamlets typical of this region, the Creuse.

Our campsite consists of more than 12 acres of beautiful meadows and woods. The gentle rolling fields provide enough level areas for pitching a tent in a sunny place or shaded by old oak, ash or hazelnut.

You are welcome with tent, trailer tent or other means, or you could rent one of our pleasantly disguised mobile homes (some with fantastic views, others situated more intimately). All 30 places have enormous dimensions and are between 20 and 100 meters apart from each other to guarantee everybody a maximum of peace and quiet.
Very much appreciated by our guests is the possibility to build a campfire at every pitch.

Next to the campsite surrounded by a wooded area there is a wonderful little valley, very privately situated, with a stream and a pond for fishing and swimming, also suitable for small children; (within a 25 minutes' drive there are more swimming opportunities).

On the campsite is a sanitary bloc with enough toilets and showers (2 of them without a roof so you can enjoy the sun or admire the stars whilst having a shower), cold and hot water, washbasins, an antique simple washing machine with mangle and some fridges for communal use. Baby bath available.

Behind the bar is another smaller sanitary bloc adapted for people with reduced mobility.

There are different play areas with swings, sand pits and other play objects. Furthermore we have a number of sheep, cows, chickens and ducks (children can help us feed the animals if they want).
Next to the farm we find 'the hangar', an enormous open shed covered in lush vegetation where our small café is situated with table tennis, table football, easy chairs and library; there is a limited free Wi-Fi-connection. All this with tasteful old furniture, antique stoves and original French kitsch. For the children there is a collection of toys, such as little tricycles, mini tractors, dolls prams etc.

Our guests:
In high season, mainly nature loving families with (small) children; regardless the fact that we do not organise any entertainment, the relaxed and open atmosphere and the great number of children makes one parent families feel at ease on our campsite as well.

In the early and late season there is a mix of people with and without children (not yet at school).

In fall and winter our gîte is a very cozy place to stay, equipped with wood fire and central heating.

N.B. For guests that come by public transport : we will come and fetch you from the train in Guéret (23 km) or Montluçon (50 km) against a modest fee.
